Call To Examine Number Of School Administrators

HARRISBURG – As school property taxes continue to rise, one lawmaker is suggesting that it’s time to take a look at the number of school administrators per district. At a Senate Appropriations Committee budget hearing with the Department of Education, Montgomery County Sen. John Rafferty urged Acting Education Secretary Carolyn Dumaresq to look into the number of administrators employed by school districts. Rafferty said that putting a formula in place would help lower property taxes and drive more money into the curriculum. Secretary Dumaresq expressed willingness to work with the senator on the issue.
