WDAC Radio Company, the licensee of Station WDAC, is a religious broadcaster as defined by the regulations of the Federal Communications Commission. See 47 C.F.R. 73.2080(c)(1); Review of the Commission’s Broadcast and Cable Equal Employment Opportunity Rules and Policies, 17FCC Red. 24018(2002). As a religious broadcaster, WDAC has established a religious qualification for all employee positions at WDAC. Description:

1. Open House of WDAC

Date: December 12 and 13, 2009

Location: WDAC-FM

Participating Team Member: Doug Myer, General Manager; John Eby, Program Director; Joe Hartman, Sales Manager, Mike Stike, Operations Manager, and various WDAC Team Members

Visitors to the WDAC facility were given a tour of the offices and studios and were provided demonstrations, informational history and operational functions of the radio station, including requirements and skills needed for careers in broadcasting. Approximately 235 people attended on the 12th and 200 people attended on the 13th.

2. Cub Scouts Tour

Date: March 4, 2010

Location: WDAC-FM

Participating Team Member: John Eby, Program Director

Eight Cub Scouts from the Quarryville, PA scout group along with eight adult supervisors were given a tour of the WDAC facility. The 60-minute tour included the on-air studio, production and recording studios, music library and offices. John Eby provided demonstrations and informational history during the tour. He also included a question/answer time which included methods of operation and requirements for broadcasting careers.

3. Mentoring and Training

Date: March 16, 19, 22, 2010

Location: WDAC-FM

Participating Team Member: Joe Hartman, Ray Kauffman, John Kilmer, Kurt Kreider, Scott Dombach, Barb Musser, Marge Sherid, John Eby, Lori Ann Crouse, Larry Dale, Greg Barton, Steve Nolt, Chuck Kunaniec, Bob Kepiro, Mike Stike, John Yoast, Kathy Piepmeyer, Cindy Fronheiser.

Doug Myer presented the requirements for EEO as outlined by ShawPittman in 2005. The areas covered included the 3-pronged EEO outreach program and what is required under each prong. The key points discussed are: document, be diligent, and discuss with visitors what skills, training, and experience are needed for a career in broadcasting

4. Job Fair

Date: March 22, 2010

Location: WDAC-FM

Participating Team Members(s); Doug Myer; Production Manager, Joe Hartman, Sales Manager, John Eby, Program Director, Mike Stike, Operations Manager, Lori Ann Crouse, Receptionist.

WDAC hosted a Job Fair at the radio station. On-air spots were aired to alert the listening audience of the event. Information was provided for a career in the areas of Announcing, Administrative/Office, Sales as well as IT/Engineering, Graphic and Web Design.

Job descriptions were provided for each position and college brochures, which could provide

Education in the Communications/Broadcasting field, were available to take along as well as

WDAC's 2010 Program Guide. Each visitor spent several minutes discussing his interest with our General Manager, Sales Manager, Operations Manager, and Program Director.

5. Cub Scouts Tour

Participating Team Member: John Eby, Program Director

Eight Cub Scouts from the New Providence, PA scout group along with nine adult supervisors were given a tour of the WDAC facility. The 60-minute tour included the on-air studio, production and recording studios, music library and offices. John Eby provided demonstrations and informational history during the tour. Questions and answers included operation and requirements for broadcasting positions.

6. Internship

Date: March 26, 2010

Location: WDAC-FM

Participating Team Members(s); John Eby, Program Director, Larry Dale, afternoon and evening host and program producer, Steve Nolt, daytime host, and Barb Musser, Production Manager.

As part of our EEO outreach, WDAC provided a school workday experience for Nathan McKeever, age 13, 8th grade student in the Lampeter-Strasburg School District on Friday, March 26, 2010. This 5-hour "shadow" experience provided the opportunity for him to observe all aspects of radio broadcasting. He observed and interacted with John Eby, Program Director, Larry Dale, afternoon and evening host and program producer, Steve Nolt, daytime host, and Barb Musser, Production Manager. Topics discussed included job descriptions, requirements, and work-related experiences which are helpful in developing a successful career in communications.
