Miller Quits GOP Primary For Wagner’s PA Senate Seat

HARRISBURG (AP) – A candidate backed by the Republican Party establishment who lost a state Senate seat to a write-in candidate is dropping out of the race for a full Senate term. York County Rep. Ron Miller had his name removed from the May 20 primary ballot Wednesday. Miller and a Democratic candidate were defeated in a March 18 special election by Penn Waste President Scott Wagner, whose write-in campaign won nearly half the votes. Wagner will complete the term of former Sen. Mike Waugh, which ends Nov. 30. Wagner faces competition in the primary and the Nov. 4 general election to determine who’ll serve the next four-year term.
