PA Lawmakers To Play Ball to Beat Hunger

HARRISBURG – Legislators, anti-hunger advocates, and team mascot Rascal from the Harrisburg Senators joined together for the official “bat grab” and draft for the second annual Capitol All-Stars Softball Game. Over 50 legislators participated in last year’s event, more than 40 companies made donations, and over $62,000 was raised for anti-hunger programs statewide. Lancaster County Sen. Mike Brubaker is co-chair of the Legislative Hunger Caucus. Proceeds from the charity softball game will benefit Feeding Pennsylvania and Hunger Free Pennsylvania. One out of 10 citizens are food insecure. The game will take place on September 23 at 5:30 p.m. at Metro Bank Park in Harrisburg. Details on the game including ticket purchases and sponsorships can be found at www.capitolallstars.com.
