HARRISBURG (AP) – Lawyers for the NCAA, Gov. Tom Corbett, and others involved in a lawsuit about the Penn State penalties are asking a judge to give them a month to work on a possible settlement. The sides filed a joint motion that says another month would give them a “meaningful opportunity to attempt to obtain a amicable resolution” of the lawsuit. The NCAA is suing Corbett, Treasurer Rob McCord and two other state officials over a 2013 Pennsylvania law that requires a $60 million penalty being paid by Penn State over the Jerry Sandusky matter to stay within Pennsylvania. The NCAA argues that is unconstitutional.
