PA Senate Leader Prepared To Run Bill To Cut Pension Benefits

HARRISBURG (AP) – A key Senate Republican leader says the Senate is prepared to run a bill to cut public pension benefits only for elected officials if the House does not approve a broader-ranging measure. Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Jake Corman said today the Senate will not act on the pension issue before Sunday to give the House time to debate and vote. If the House does not approve that plan or one like it, Corman says the Senate would consider similar changes for legislators, judges and certain other elected officials.
