School Safety Bill Approved By State House

HARRISBURG – Legislation requiring the PA Department of Education’s Office for Safe Schools to develop hotlines and internet notification systems so students, parents, and teachers can anonymously report potentially dangerous situations in schools has been approved by the PA House. Rep. Gary Day of Berks & Lehigh Counties, who chaired the House Select Committee on School Safety, believes House Bill 1801 is an important part in making Pennsylvania schools more secure. The bill now goes to the state Senate for consideration.
