POTTSVILLE (AP) – Schuylkill County’s longtime clerk of courts is resigning amid a corruption probe. District Attorney Christine Holman and Controller Christy Joy say Stephen LukachJr. used public money to make personal car payments and buy items for his own use. Lukach has returned about $1,100 to county coffers, according to Joy. Lukach, who faces state and federal investigations, has not been charged. He has served as clerk of courts for 27 years. He’ll resign as of Thursday.
