LEWISBERRY (AP) – An attorney representing a York County woman accused of slashing her 2-year-old son says his client had mental health issues at the time. Attorney Craig Penglase believes 36-year-old Candis Bradshaw “suffered a psychotic break.” A district judge found enough evidence for Bradshaw to stand trial on charges including attempted homicide and aggravated assault. Police said Bradshaw cut the boy with a 12-inch butcher knife on Jan. 17 at their Fairview Township home. He spent several days in the hospital. Investigators said Bradshaw had also stabbed herself. Court documents allege that she had suffered from postpartum depression and was anxious and depressed.
