April Is Donate Life Month In PA

HARRISBURG – The month of April is Donate Life Month in Pennsylvania. The PA Department of Health, PennDOT, and Donate Life Pennsylvania highlighted the importance of organ and tissue donation at the Harrisburg PennDOT License Center. More than 48% of current driver’s license and ID card holders are registered organ donors – that’s over 4.77 million Pennsylvanians. More than 7,500 Pennsylvanians are currently awaiting organ transplants. Brittany Grimm is an organ recipient and thanks her donor everyday. To add the organ donor designation to an existing driver’s license or ID card, visit www.dmv.pa.gov and select the “Donate Life Pennsylvania” in the middle column of the page. For additional information on organ donation in Pennsylvania, go to donatelifepa.org.
