Report Recommends Holistic Approach To Making PA Schools Safe

/ WDAC

HARRISBURG – PA Auditor General Eugene DePasquale released a full report from the PA School Safety Task Force that was created after the high school shooting in Parkland, Florida. The task force had discussions with students, teachers, school officials, parents, and law enforcement about ideas to improve school security and safety. Recommendations included bolstering the physical security of school buildings and improving communications and training for teachers and other personnel. It also urged increased access to mental health services in schools and building community connections. A state law enacted in June dedicates $60 million for school safety grants and provides a way to handle anonymous reports of threats to schools. You can read the full report by CLICKING THIS LINK.
