Legislators Reflect On Labor Day

/ WDAC

LANCASTER – Labor Day is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of the American worker. It’s a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our nation. Lancaster County Rep. Bryan Cutler reflected on the significance of this special day calling it a celebration of the working class, whether union or non-union, who help to make our country great. Area Congressman Lloyd Smucker called the American workforce the best in the world, hard-working, dedicated, and always striving to do more and achieve more resulting in tremendous growth and success. In 1894, Labor Day was made an official holiday when Congress passed legislation into law to give Labor Day the status of a national holiday.

CONGRESSMAN LLOYD SMUCKER
