Female Good Samaritan’s Body Found In Harford County

/ WDAC

BEL AIR, MD Authorities say a searcher found the body of a Maryland woman swept away last Friday trying to help another man caught in floodwaters. The body of 34-year-old Melissa Lehew of Darlington was discovered Monday afternoon in Harford County. On Friday, Lehew and a boyfriend drove up to try to help a man whose car was disabled because of rushing water in the area of Route 136 and James Run on the Broad Run bridge. While trying to help the other person, investigators say she was caught in rushing water and swept away. The disabled vehicle she was trying to help was also carried off the bridge and the man inside, 67-year-old Daniel Samis of Abingdon, died.
