Samaritan’s Purse Prepares For Hurricane Florence

/ WDAC

BOONE, NC – Samaritan’s Purse is preparing to respond in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence which is expected to blow ashore as early as Friday around the North Carolina-South Carolina line. They plan on responding with staff, equipment, and disaster relief units. Preparations for a possible deployment are already underway. Volunteer teams will be mobilized to help homeowners with cleanup. Billy Graham Rapid Respond Team chaplains would also be called on to serve. More than 1 million people face mandatory evacuation in the face of the storm. The governors in both Carolinas, Virginia, and Maryland have declared states of emergency. President Trump has issued federal emergency declarations for both North and South Carolina. Parts of the Carolinas and Virginia may receive more than two feet of rain through the weekend. Please pray as this storm bears down on the eastern seaboard. Pray for safety for residents and for preparations to respond.
