LEBANON – The Brethren Disaster Relief Auction will be held today and Saturday in Lebanon. Folks gather at the Lebanon Area Fairgrounds on Rocherty Road for a two-day event to raise money for victims of natural and man-made disasters. The event is supported by the Atlantic Northeast & Southern Pennsylvania Districts which represent more than 120 Church of the Brethren congregations. While most gather in the main auditorium, vendors representing broad areas of interest setup their booths to display crafts, food items, literature, and educational materials. Livestock and agricultural items are sold in outside sheds. The funds raised enable the disaster relief clean-up and rebuilding work of Brethren Disaster Ministries to continue. They have helped those affected by Hurricane Katrina, the earthquake in Haiti, hurricane in Puerto Rico, as well as many other smaller and more local disasters. You can find out more as well as a complete schedule of activities at brethrenauction.org.
