Body Found In Lancaster County Field Identified

/ WDAC

PEQUEA TOWNSHIP – An autopsy was conducted on the body of a man found dead this weekend in a Lancaster County field. Authorities say the body is that of 48-year-old Ronel Villanueva-Mejias of Lancaster. His body was discovered by a passer-by on Saturday around 7 a.m. in a field in the 2100 block of New Danville Pike between Long Lane and Stoney Lane in Pequea Township. No obvious signs of trauma were found and officials will have to wait for toxicology tests to determine the cause of death. Investigators believe he was transported in a vehicle to the location where his body was found. Authorities are seeking information on any vehicles or persons seen in the area on Friday night or Saturday morning. Anyone with information should call the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office at 717-299-8100. Tips can also be submitted anonymously at slcrpd.org.
