Hearing Planned On Proposed York County Mini-Casino


HARRISBURG – The PA Gaming Control Board will hold a public input hearing on Thursday, November 1 in the Springettsbury Township Municipal Building to collect testimony on the York County mini-casino application submitted by Penn National Gaming. The township building is located at 1501 Mount Zion Road in York with the hearing beginning at 10 a.m. The purpose of the hearing is to provide a forum for individuals to voice their support or opposition to the proposed mini-casino. Penn National wants to put the mini-casino at the York Galleria mall. The Board has begun accepting requests from citizens, public officials, and community groups who wish to provide oral or written testimony. Those wishing to present testimony at the public input hearing must register prior to the hearing by visiting and click the “Penn National Casino York Public Input Hearing” link under the QuickLinks section of the home page. The deadline for registration to speak is noon on October 30. Those who cannot attend the public hearing, but would like to place written comments into the record can do so prior to the hearing date through the same web site link, by e-mail to or by fax to 717-265-7416. Mailed comments must be postmarked no later than October 30 and mailed to: PA Gaming Control Board, P.O. Box 69060, Harrisburg, PA 17106, Attention: Board Clerk. All information received by the Board during these proceedings, either in oral or written form, will be included in the record upon which the Board will grant or deny a license.
