Proposal Keeps Motorists From Having Loaded Firearms In Vehicles

/ WDAC

HARRISBURG – Legislation has been introduced that would prohibit motorists from carrying loaded firearms in their vehicles. House Bill 2669 would allow an exception of firearms related to game hunting, law enforcement, military personnel or security drivers. Under the measure, a person found carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle would be charged with a misdemeanor for a first offense, and a first-degree misdemeanor for a second or subsequent offense. The bill was offered in the wake of the June 2017 road-rage shooting death of 18-year-old Bianca Roberson in Chester County. Companion legislation was also offered in the state Senate.
