UGI Faces Fine In Fatal Lancaster County Home Explosion

HARRISBURG – The PA Public Utility Commission filed a formal complaint against UGI Utilities claiming the utility violated state and federal regulations in a fatal natural gas explosion at a Manor Township, Lancaster County, home last year. The explosion occurred at a home on Springdale Lane in July 2017. It killed a UGI employee and injured three others. The PUC’s Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement proposes that UGI pay a penalty of over $2 million for the violations. The complaint also proposed corrective actions for UGI to take.
